This is a tour starting in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria driving up to the beautiful village of Tejeda located in the centre of the island. To reach Tejeda we will drive through the villages of Arucas, Teror and Valleseco. On the way down to Las Palmas we will drive through San Mateo and Santa Brígida. The route is approximately 90 kms and with stops and lunch will have a duration of around 5 hours.
We leave the city of Las Palmas heading west direction to the village of Arucas. Arucas is famous for its Church San Juan Bautista, built in 1909 with Arucas stone by local master masons.
After leaving Arucas the route takes us up to the beautiful and famous village of Teror. The entire Old Town of Teror is under monument protection. In Teror we will stop to visit the Basilica of the Virgen del Pino, built in 1760. Teror is the perfect place to have some quick “tapas” in any of its many unique bars.
We keep driving up to Valleseco, meaning “dry valley”, even though the village has nothing in relation to its name, as it has the highest values of rain in the island. In this area around 80 percent of the land is considered a Protected Natural Space. We leave Valleseco behind to keep going up to Tejeda.
