This is one of our favorite tours, crossing the island from south to north. Starting at Las Palmas de Gran Canaria we drive south and then up to the centre of the island, visiting Tejeda and Artenara and down to the north passing through the village of Moya. The route is approximately 160 kms and with stops and lunch will have a duration of around 6-7 hours.
We leave the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria heading south to Playa del Inglés. From the south it’s time to cross the island with a first stop at the ‘mirador Degollada de Las Yeguas’ to enjoy the great views. From here we keep going passing by the villages of Fataga, Tunte and Ayacata.
We drive bordering the ‘Roque Nublo’ and ‘Roque Bentayga’, two popular rock formations on the inside of the island. Going down we pass through the villages of Fontanales and Moya. Moya is a nice village surrounded by a beautiful natural reserve. Here we can find the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria, a church that hangs over the cliff which drops sheerly down to the Barranco de Moya.
After leaving Moya we reach the north part of the island and go back to our garage on Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
